Poorer households switching to solar faster than the rich

New analysis shows that generating your own electricity with rooftop solar PV is not a taxpayer subsidised lurk for rich folks. Looks like they can’t be bothered. It’s lower income folks who, against backdrop of confusion by Canberra, can see the benefits and need to make the savings. Additionally, selling excess power back to the grid at less than cost for Retailers, wholesale price on the Grid is reduced, so price to all end users is subsidised by households with rooftop solar.

Activist shareholders now act against corporations, leading to finance corporations making big finance conditional on action. As more litigation cases are won, even biggest corporations can no longer afford to turn a blind eye to climate emergency.

UK urged to remove carbon from gas

before natural gas was tapped, UK used gas, for cooking and heating, deriving it from coal, that was more than 50% hydrogen. The UK has grown its economy whilst cutting carbon faster than any other country in the G7.

Woefully inadequate’: Morrison government to use Paris climate short-cut

A shonky was done for Kyoto1, that Australia increase emissions by 8% when other countries decreased. Not all of quota was used, now known as carry over credits. Other countries reduced less than target but choose to not claim credits.

Australia has brokered a deal to ensure it does keep its surplus carbon credits.

Australia has agreed to strongly support a push to include a 1.5-degree global warming goal in a Paris agreement in exchange for more favourable carbon emissions rules.

St Lucia Environment Minister James Fletcher revealed the deal, which also involves South Africa.”

Black coal plants push Australian wholesale energy prices to record highs | RenewEconomy

Not looking good for coal already. At least they realise it will be more trouble than it’s worth to game the market above $5,000/MWh. If only COALition could see beyond the end of its nose that they need to help, and stop hindering, investment in renewables, storage and electric vehicles.
