Stanford University scientist Mark Jacobson has developed a 50-state roadmap for transforming the United States from dependence on fossil fuels to 100 percent renewable energy by 2050. He unveiled the plan at the annual meeting of the American Association for the Advancement of Science in Chicago…”Drastic problems require drastic and immediate solutions,” said Jacobson, a professor of civil and environmental engineering. “Our new roadmap is designed to provide each state a first step toward a renewable future.”

Please give this a click, delightful festive message, with class, from wonderful people at Carbon Visuals:
Before stampede to buy shonky offshore credits, how about finding out what happened to taxpayer $100M gift, by John Howard, to Indonesia? How’s it been accounted for, where did it go and did it do any good? Could this Free Trade wonder balloon up to make GFC(Global Finance Crooks) look tiny as a village fair?
Don’t we need certainty, the kind you get with reducing domestic emissions? Why be dependent on the kind of yo-yo international price swings of coal, iron ore, oil, gas craziness?

Mainstream media consistently peddles the delusions that we’ll be right when or annual rate of emissions is slightly less, a dangerous piece of disinformation. Emissions already in atmosphere will mostly be there for centuries. They’re like extra blankets you pile on a bed on a cold winter’s night. As you hop into bed, it’s cool for quite a while. Ultimately extra blankets keep too much heat in. Of course, it’s easy enough to flip a few off. Unfortunately the only way to do this for the planet is with CCS(carbon capture and storage), the big fuss that’s been made to prolong the agony with cola fired power. Even more unfortunately, CCS has never worked and shows no progress. So unless we can put a rocket up our leaders for real action, the future is looking hot as…

Hunt was once a debating champion (as was Turnbull). It shows – there’s a lack of commitment to principle. It’s all just debating points, often meaningless. Were I Hunt, I wouldn’t dare show my face in Paris after what he’s done under Abbott. He may well be more aligned to Turnbull’s views on climate, but it’s too late! He’s done enormous damage and will not be forgiven…In a discussion about carbon pricing – which, as I’ve noted, there’s quite an appetite for in Paris at the moment – the Minister forgot to mention even once that he had done away with the Carbon Tax. Which is a shame, because it’s quite a world-beating achievement considering we’re thought to be the only country in the world to have removed a price on carbon.
