Energy efficiency improvement is the easiest way to reduce consumption. Here’s a story about what’s possible with a new house. Chart here is energy per square metre of house. Emphasis about house rating is by Energy Stars. Obviously it costs twice as much energy for a house of twice the size but same start rating. Size does matter.

    In OUR passivhaus…. we are down to 1.8kWh/day! and that’s with all he bells and whistles you would expect in a modern house…. and then some.
