Water costs farmers 36x more than Adani

Cost of water per Ml(Megalitre):

Farmers on Murray $980

Adani $27

How good is this?

How can the driest continent on the planet, during extreme and extended drought, just gift such big subsidies to smugly fossil fuel mafia?

Of course, with exemption from payment this, royalty on coal, diesel excise etc etc etc, Adani is given $20Million licence for 60 years unlimited water. Adani say no more than 12,500 Ml/year.

($20M / 12500) / 60 = $27 per Ml

PS if you check household cost of your water, you find $3 or so per kl, which means you pay $3000 per Ml v Adani less than $30.

Not a drop of water after government spends $80m on rights from agribusiness

Angus Taylor, again, the smelly deal to buy back water for $80M but no water at all in drought. Previously this was organised for $120M including freehold. Anus is more than fake news this time.

Australia’s dirty grid may kill its biggest customers, and the case for coal

But will Angus now be into foreplay with his big stick and preparing big subsidies to prevent Portland Aluminium shutting down?

Could Portland have been attractive for decentralisation if it hadn’t been so dominated by Alcoa?
