Up front claim is Cargill is a shipping company. True but gigantic, dedicated to shipping most of worlds agricultural produce.

Latest and biggest buyout in Australia, was AWB(Australian wheat board). Someone in conversation with senior Cargill person, asked about the deal. FIRB(foreign investment review board) had ruled Cargill out as bidder when AWB up for sale, too big, dominating world market. Evidently Cargill were amused , immediately flexing muscle buying ADM of Canada eligible to bid, and winner.

Big guys sure do keep dominating more little old mid West worldwide markets. From memory, this little old mid-West USA farm enterprise owns fleet of 600 ships!!
