Mainly a scare about price rises, despite renewables bringing prices down. If only Hazelwood had paid more than next to nothing for coal and nothing for pollution damage, prices would definitely decrease.  Lest we forget, it was John Howard who divisionalised, corporatised, federalised and privatised chaos into electricity industry. It was this, not carbon tax, which caused prices to double since 2006, caused by “independent” regulators rubber stamping $75B into more poles and wires. Hazelwood is 8 separate gen sets so, if a worry, why not just hibernate part and see if anybody can see any difference?
