A particularly convincing interview with Dr Chris Hope Cambridge Uni UK. Emma Alberici confronts Chris with opinions from critics but he puts his finger on exactly how each one now agrees. Cause is release of methane, trapped beneath Arctic ice, 50Billion tonnes total, worse than CO2 and huge cost explained by persistence in atmosphere for 50 years or more. Not much can be done to stop it except very quick change to renewables for power, transport, the lot so that we don’t make it worse. Strong opinion that carbon tax offers certainty that ETS never can, also price needs to be $100/tonne. Don’t do this and huge tracts of planet will be dead.
