This is Xi’s first meeting with Obama as the General Secretary of the Chinese Communist Party, which is the analogue to the Chinese presidency. Recently China has made news on plans to cut carbon emissions but then appeared to partially walk some of that news back.(reducing HFC emissions instead of CO2)

It’s curious that they backed away from agenda call to reduce  CO2 and substituted HFC, even more curious that, last week, Murdoch media made headline news, about a long discredited paper which claimed that CFC’s, rather than CO2, are the cause of warming. Imagine Rupert making it easy for Obama and President Xi Jinping to not announce anything about reducing CO2 emissions!
