Ecologist Paul Ehrlich shocked the world in 1968 with publication of ‘The Population Bomb,’ co-written with wife, biologist Anne Ehrlich. 46 years later, he says main thing he got wrong was impact that doubling of world population to 7.2 billion would have on global climate system.
Dr. Ehrlich says solution to climate change is universal access to birth control, abortion on demand, and the end to what he calls ‘disease’ of growth economics. In so many years of Australia watching, he’s appalled at transnational corporations and depths of undermining of democracy. They reduce us to 3rd world country status, so dependent on export of commodities, while world renowned breakthrough scientists here are completely ignored and need to emigrate for any chance of success.
