For those of us on Phillip Island, at the end of skinny power line, where voltage ducks and dives, also brown outs damage appliances, the case is ever more convincing for us to become more self reliant. These systems compensate for glitches from the grid, making our supply smoother and safer. Also they can protect from huge cost of peak power as billing systems change to user-pays.
